FRANK BURNS - Senior VP Projects
As Principal Engineer and one of the owners of RTD Associates, Mr. Burns provided the engineering for modifications of building envelopes for hospitals, institutions, universities and retail. Now as co-founder and Senior VP Projects for Green Generation Group, LLC, Burns is applying his extensive project experience to the design and execution of hydrokinetic and bioelectricity projects.

Frank began his engineering career as a Lieutenant in the US Army Corps of Engineers for four years and then served as a part time soldier in the Army Engineers in the NC National Guard and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He provided design and project management services for the Army on projects varying in scope from rifle ranges to base camp design and layouts all over the world.

His civilian career began in 1981 as a design engineer for Duke Power Company supporting plant modifications to operating fossil fueled power plants. The experience gained at this assignment included projects ranging from earthen dam stabilization to structural steel and concrete structural modifications.

Frank was one of the first engineers to join Duke/Fluor Daniel (D/FD). While at D/FD he designed structures, fan bases, stack foundations, scrubber and coal handling structures and foundations. Other assignments included construction engineer, project engineer, and project manager for a SCR installation at Duke Power's Belews Creek Station.

Frank has BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in NC, SC, Va., Ga., Fl., and NH. He is also a Registered General Contractor in NC, SC and Florida.
